Am I addicted to driving my car?

October 5, 2007

car.JPGI like driving my car. I need to drive my car to get to places. Are people lining up to create an addiction to cars? Not being over 100 years old I wasn’t around when cars were first delivered to the mass market. However back when cars were first delivered to the mass market, life was tougher. People had jobs that actually produced things and kept them occupied. They slaved away in factories, created things, grew things, sold things. There weren’t anywhere near the number of experts or people with jobs whose main function seems to be poking their nose into other people’s business. (more…)

WoW as a terrorist training tool

August 1, 2007

Apparently the Australian had a story up about terrorists using games such as WoW as a tool. The direct link to the story now gives a 404 error (those pesky terrorists!), but enough folks out there have quoted the story for the gist of the story to be available:

Kevin Zuccato, head of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre in Canberra, says terrorists can gain training in games such as World of Warcraft in a simulated environment, using weapons that are identical to real-world armaments.

I seriously wonder about the intelligence of the general population.

Someone is complaining to Blizzard that gold sellers ripped them off $45. If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I would not have believed it.

To Whom it May Concern at Blizzard,
Hello, my name is XXXX XXXX and I have been playing World Of Warcraft for about seven months. I love it – I have always been a fan of RPG’s – however my computer always limited me to console games. When I finally purchased a computer that could handle online gaming I immeadiately searched for an online RPG of epic status. Choosing WoW was an easy decision – it was the largest and best produced and the free trial sucked me right in – I was hooked!
Roughly two months in to the experience I decided to look into buying gold on the internet – having just seen a website advertised on an ingame chat channel. When I reached the site I was impressed by how professional it looked – in fact the graphics are the same used on the official WoW website – and placed an order. The order arrived at my ingame mail in no time and I went on my way.

Does the whole world need to grow up?

January 19, 2007

So apparently it’s myspace’s fault that people are stupid?

The lawyers who filed the latest lawsuits said the plaintiffs include a 15-year-old girl from Texas who was lured to a meeting, drugged and assaulted in 2006 by an adult MySpace user, who is currently serving a 10-year sentence in Texas after pleading guilty to sexual assault.

Last June, the mother of a 14-year-old who says the youth was sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old user sued MySpace and News Corp., seeking $US30 million in damages. That lawsuit, pending in a Texas state court, claims the 19-year-old lied about being a senior in high school to gain her trust and phone number.

So apparently people lie on the internet? Wow?

And the parents don’t feel any responsibility in letting their 14 year old wander off to meet a complete stranger?

So if she had have met him via friends would they sue the friends? Did they arrange to meet over the phone are they gonna sue their phone company?

Idiots.

It’s so horrid I can’t look away

January 5, 2007

By the way.. out of about a thousand people who received the email I only got one person somewhat interested. I’m surprised more people are not willing to put their money to work at 24%. Maybe because people don’t understand they can be private lenders on real estate.

Good lord!!!

This guy is not just out for his two minutes of internet fame. He’s a crook!!

Give me your money, even though I’ve lost all mine and I’ll pay it back. Promise. No really, I will.

How stupid do you need to be

This guy is so stupid, arrogant and self centred he might just be the role model for his generation.

It’s so, so awful, yet I just can’t look away.
